Marlborough

Marlborough countryside.jpgBlessed with a cool overall climate but long, warm summer days and free-draining soil, the Marlborough wine growing district is world renowned. Thornbury wines from this region are selected from across the three key viticultural areas: the Waihopai, Wairua and Awatere valleys. This ensures that we are working with a variety of grapes that have undergone extended ripening and development with a consequent flavour retention that is expressed in our wines.

Make the Most of Marlborough...

A great way to experience the beautiful Marlborough wine region is to do a wine tour by bike. You can hire bikes with bottle carriers and organise accommodation pick-up and drop-off. Some great places to visit while in Marlborough are the Marlborough Sounds, Picton and the renowned Queen Charlotte walking track.
