Tasting Notes
Thornbury Marlborough Pinot Gris 2007
Tasting Notes

This complex Pinot Gris exhibits lifted orange blossom and honeysuckle aromas. The palate is finely textured and mouth filling with hints of citrus and spiced apple. Best enjoyed young, however further complexity and richness will be gained with cellaring

Food Match

Enjoy with soft cheeses, Salmon or other fish dishes.

Winemakers Notes

The fruit was hand harvested over two week period in early April to gain optimum ripeness then whole bunched pressed to different vessels. Cultured yeast strains and cool fermentation techniques in tank were used to preserve natural fruit flavours. Some residual sugar was left in the wine to provide balance in the final blend. Post fermentation, the wine was left on yeast lees with occasional lees stirring to help build the desired texture and richness on the palate. This wine was then blended and bottled early to capture the pure fruit flavours of the vineyard.
