Tasting Notes
Thornbury Marlborough Pinot Gris 2004
Tasting Notes

Pale straw in colour with a light golden hue and the slightest hint of pink at the centre. The nose offers a glimpse of dried fruits with a perfume floral sent. The influence of lees stirring has helped to impart some complexity to the aroma. Structurally the wine is full and well rounded with a soft, almost sweet, approach and a clean focused finish. The mid palate is smooth and fleshy showing lovely juice fruit flavours that taper away slowly to the finish.

Food Match

Great with a Chinese Stir-fried pork and green beans.

Winemakers Notes

We use winemaking methods that preserve and enhance the natural pink tinge of the fruit and consequently the wine will develop significant colour as it ages. We are also mindful of the rich texture that Pinot Gris can offer - another important element in our winemaking process that we wish to encourage.

Cellaring

3-5 years
