Giving it four and a half stars, wine writer Yvonne Lorkin picked the 2005 Thornbury Sauvignon Blancas her wine of the week, writing:
“Lipsmacking lime, red capsicum and passionfruit characters jostle for position on the palate with this delicious wine. It is intensely fruit driven with an explosive gooseberry sorbet-like finish. Ripe and textural after a year and a half in bottle and with 14% alcohol it has superb length of flavour. If you love Sauvignon, make sure you sip this."
Thornbury’s 2005 Sauvignon makes for superb drinking, particularly when matched with food. Winemaker Simon Fell recommends it with a summer antipasti such as goat fetta, olives and sundried tomatoes, or try with your favourite seafood or white fish dish.
